Apology and Explanation

Hi! I'm your host Bev Sykes of the blog "Funny the World". . Welcome to Sunday Stealing. This feature originated and published on WTIT: The Blog. Here we will steal all types of questions from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent questions. (Past hosts include: Our first - Judd Corizan, Mr. L, Kwizgiver and
Bud)  Cheers to all of us thieves!

No questions this week, but please read this so you know why.  I usually stay 3 weeks ahead on Sunday Stealing just on the off chance that "something comes up" (I'm hit by a bus or come down with some dire illnesss just before Saturday).  But in so doing, I have made a rather bad enemy of Wednesday Medley.  The questions I used on October 12 and the questions I used last week came off of the web page for a site called Cranberry Morning and on October 12, I had an irate message from Wednesday Medley to say that the questions originated with that site and NOT with Cranberry Morning.

Apparently that didn't penetrate because on the questions I had set up ahead of time was another set of questions from Wednesday Medley again linked back to Cranberry Morning, the site where I saw them originally.

Off I went to Santa Barbara for the weekend, no computer with me. When last week's questions first appeared, I had another irate message:

Please correct this week's SUNDAY STEALING to the correct WEDNESDAY MEDLEY website immediately.

www.wednesdaymedley.blogspot,
com

For the second time within three weeks you have linked to CRANBERRY MORNING which has nothing to do with WEDNESDAY MEDLEY. Cranberry Morning used to participate in the meme, just like The Gal Herself or Lori or Tracy participates on Saturday 9 or Sunday Stealing.

I took over WEDNESDAY MEDLEY from Terri "Your Friend In Florida" who retired from writing the meme five weeks ago...

Please correct the link immediately! You are driving people away from WEDNESDAY MEDLEY!

 Please correct the link immediately!

And you are using an outdated logo.

I responded immediately, explaining that I had no computer and thus could not get into the programming page for Sunday Stealing, apologized, and said I would change the link as soon as I got home Monday night.  In return I received another message, Repeating what had been sent before and again ordering me to  Please correct the link immediately!
I again responded that I had no computer, was 400 miles away from my computer, and could not get into the site to change anything until Monday.  I also suggested that maybe she could contact Kwizgiver, who can get into the site.
Next message came:

It's too late. A few of the ladies copied the Sunday Stealing questions from your blog. [FWIW, this is not MY blog, it is OUR blog]  The damage is done.

This Sunday, I expect a public apology, an explanation including Allison Ladner's role in the Sunday Stealing for October 12, correct attribution and correct logo.

And Wednesday Medley questions, Not some hackneyed Reader's Digest version.

Do not  bother trying to hide things by changing links. Already noted by the police department.

The police department??  I've been reported to the Police Department for using the wrong link?  And I have no idea who Allison Ladner is or how she had "a role" in Sunday Stealing for October 12.
Anyway, I will never make the mistake of stealing from Wednesday Medley again, I apologize abjectly and I hope that everyone will go to Wednesday Medley and if you want to answer those questions, copy them from there because obviously if I post them here, I will be driving people away from her site and I don't want to do that. ' cause that would be, you know...stealing.

Oh yeah and the proper logo (when I can't find a logo on the page, I just go to a Google search and use what comes up there) is this:
If anybody is unhappy with what I have been doing for the past year-plus (other than Wednesday Medley, who is obviously very unhappy), let me know and I'll be very happy to turn it over to someone new.

So sorry you had to deal with this NONSENSE! Some people take themselves way too seriously and if Wednesday Medley had taken the time to approach this in a more professional manner, she'd have learned how idiotic her assumptions were

(Thank you, Dana!)

Jaysus! Bev, I'm sorry that you had this to deal with. I hope that you can still have plenty of good memories from this meme!

I think you've done a great job with Sunday Stealing. I am speechless at all this.

I am so sorry this happened to you, Bev.

Bev, what role did I play in the stealing? I'm Allison that's mentioned...

Bev Sykes said...

I don't have a clue!

I am sorry you had to deal with this. I think you've done a great job with Sunday Stealing. I guess you don't steal from that Wednesday place again, though.

I did suggest to her that she contact you because I knew you could get into the program file, which I could not, and could change the link. I thought that might help. Apparently not.

My goodness! I am sad you had to deal with such nonsense and rude behavior. That person needs to calm down. Negativity like that makes the world a sad place.

You are doing a fine job! Keep up the good work. Do not let some bully get to you.

You've done a great job these past years since you've taken it over. I said before that it's amazing.

We need to get a brass plated something or other to send to that bully. The police? Is she talking about the singing group?

Oh Bev! I am so sorry you are having to deal with this...just know that we support you. This is not even worth worrying about. I just hate that someone has upset you. I wish I could give you a hug. ((((HUGS))))!!!

You do a fantastic job if I need anything, let me know. You rock...

How can she turn over a blog & be unhappy. Both you and gal do things differently than I did, and much the better for it...

I've had another thought. We had a very successful Wednesday Meme once upon a time. I have all "the fixings" if you be more comfortable AND APPRECIATED! Email if that sounds good. Or I can do it. But you stay here at Stealing. I got emails from players wanting to have my say on the matter: Screw the jerk. She can have the name, logo and no players. I'd love to set it up. It's how Sat-9 got started. Sat-8 was terrible in that she skipped too many weeks. I think I've covered it. This here is your blog. Change it and do it anyway you want. I hate bullies...

One never knows what might happen in blogland.. people do hang very tightly to their posting I suppose, but rudeness is uncalled for.. I appreciate all you do and hope you will not leave your post at Sunday Stealing.. I have always wondered who took over Wednesday Medley becasue they do not post anywhere on the site who they a re...again, hope you can jsut shake this all off and that somehow you and Cm can come to a settlement of grace toward one another.

Bev, I've emailed the Wednesday Medley host via the meme email asking for clarification in how I am directly involved but have not heard anything. I don't want the police knocking on my door. ;)

I'd like to clear something up here, because there are too many players in this (wholly unnecessary) drama. Cranberry Morning is a completely innocent bystander in all this. So are Kwizgiver and Teri from Florida. It's the woman who took over Wednesday Medley who turned up the temperature to a ridiculous degree. (She's notified the police? Really? Run, Kwiz, run!)

You know what's really bizarre about all this? Before Sunday Stealing, I didn't know Wednesday Medley even existed. If the new owner of the meme had been friendlier in how she handled this, I might have begun playing. After all, Sunday Stealing is how I found Toni's Tuesday meme.

The only harm that's come to Wednesday Medley comes from the way Bev has been treated. Bud speaks for me: "I hate bullies ..."

Thanks for all the support, everyone. I'm not going to let this scare me off of Sunday Stealing. I'm enjoying it too much. I'm just sorry for this unpleasantness.

THAT is the most important thing in this woman's life? There is so much more to worry about that petty BS like that. What part of Sunday *STEALING* did she miss? Keep doing your good stuff, Bev.

Bev, you've always done, and are doing a brilliant job. Sounds like this person has very little to do. Sorry you've been put through this.

Take care,

Pand
